PRTCRSLOG – Print Cross Logicals
PRTCRSLOG can be be described as a tool to print all logical files that look INTO a given library and also those that look OUT of the library. Therefore all logicals that CROSS the library boundary
The PRINT CROSS LOGICAL tool (PRTCRSLOG) builds a database of all physical files (tables) in any given library (schema) on the IBM I system.
PRTCRSLOG FILE(*ALL) FILETYPE(*BOTH) DETAIL(*FULL)
A Cross logical is a logical file that is built in one library but is scoped over a physical file that lives in another library.
Options are fairly self explanatory:
- File type BOTH – Checks both PF and LF for cross logical boundaries
- File Type *PF and *LF – only checks those
